Report from March /AprilOn a recent trip to the Lakes John and I visited Rydal Mount home of William Wordsworth, and after a good cup of Coffee in the visitors centre we made our way in to the garden in the hope of seeing a "host of golden daffodils" in Dora's field, the old gardener told us we were a bit too early! But as compensation we did see plenty of snow drops and crocus, and the bird sung was wonderful. We were the only visitors that morning and the peace was a real blessing from God. I would think that as the middle of March approaches (and if they haven't been flattened by the recent gales) the daffodils should be in bloom.Thinking of March what a wonderful and happy family occasion our Mothering Sunday service was. Mrs Anne Baker was admitted by the Rev David Evans to the Mothers Union and it was good to see so many of our MU members present and taking part in the service. It was quiet crowded at the front of church as we all gathered for this short service and to welcome Anne to the MU. A group of girls and boys from JAM club formed a flower procession and presented the flowers at the altar were they were placed and blessed . Then at the offertory the children came back to receive the basket of flowers and distributed them to members of congregation After the service we all enjoyed Simnel cake , sherry or tea and coffee .with juice and biscuits for the children. Thank you to all who made the day so special. By the time you read this we will also have served tea for the Rose Queen At Home, played host to our Mums and Tots group with an Easter Celebration singing and stories followed by an Easter egg hunt and refreshments.Made and distributed 100 Easter egg cakes for Easter Sunday and hopefully have winners for the Children's Easter colouring competition!
