The Rev. Barnshaw was licensed and welcomed at a special Team service at St Paul's Church Ramsbottom on Monday 8th September. The service was led by the Bishop of Bolton, Chris Edmondson.
Anthony, who was a Curate in the Salford Deanery has a degree in Theology and was trained at St John's College, Nottingham prior to his Ordination in Manchester Cathedral in 2005.

Canon Ian Rogerson, the Team Rector said: "We warmly welcome Anthony as our new Team vicar and trust that he and his family will soon settle into this community. I am looking forward to working with Anthony and for him to exercise his gifts and skills across the five churches in our Team and into the wider community. I am particularly pleased that the Bishop of Manchester has been able to make this appointment so soon after the retirement of the Rev Jeff Arcus" The Reverend Barnshaw said, ‘I come to Ramsbottom and Edenfield after three years of a curacy where I learned a great deal and made many great friends. It is with sadness that I say goodbye to them, yet I also say it with great thanks. I look forward to becoming the team vicar of Ramsbottom and Edenfield. I am certain there is much I can learn from Canon Ian Rogerson and I cannot wait to get started.'
